Who Is Your Most Valuable Follower?

(hubze) On Facebook the amount of friends a person has is trivial. However on Twitter it is no secret that the main point is to have a lot of followers. Each individual follower is an endorsement: “yes, I think what you have to say is valuable.” But how do you increase your followers?

Today is the day to think outside of your personal following. Think about all the followers your followers have!

A key area of focus in a savvy Twitter strategy is to recognize who your top influencers are, also known as MVFs (most valuable follower).

Essentially, you may have under a thousand followers– and at face value there is more to be desired. But the good news is that with Twitter, your reach goes beyond your own followers.

So a person with say 200 followers, actually has a reach of a few thousand (your follower’s + their followers= REACH).

A new app called MVF helps you find your Twitter follower that has the most followers, making it easy to hone in on them like a heat seeking 140-character missile. Feed off of their spotlight; the nature of social media wills it!

The app allows you to tweet a message of congratulations to your MVF. I wouldn’t want a congratulatory automated message on my feed with the app’s stamp all over it, but it could be a gracious ego boost for some. What do you think?

The MVF app will show you the total number of followers that your followers have. Also, the app will show you a list of your Top 5 MVFs.

This is a nifty tool: narrow in on your key players in your audience, see what they like, target their love buttons, and fire away.
