Facebook is the new Burn book
(hubze) Have you ever had to deal with Facebook drama or gotten into a Twitter fight?
Urban Dictionary defines Facebook drama as “drama that occurs on facebook. Because of how facebook is built, there is a high degree of access to others conversations, and people who may have never talked see what others say. Since all people believe they are right, they feel the need to point out where others are wrong, in what they said, what they did their opinion, who they stick up for, ect.”.
Facebook might as well be called Burn book (everyone saw Mean Girls, right?) with all the drama that goes on.
Most of you probably have gotten involved in some Facebook drama, maybe over a comment of post, and especially over political views these days, with the Presidential elections approaching. Social networking websites used to be a tool to connect with old friends or stay in touch with people. However, social networking sites are more than a tool or a representation of your social life. There are all sorts of tension and drama around social networking sites. For example, when I broke up with my ex-boyfriend a couple of years ago, I noticed that some of his friends deleted me on Facebook and that his mom “liked” his new relationship status (single). I know, right? Thanks, white lady! It was nice knowing you too!
As if we don’t have enough Facebook drama, now there are ways see when someone unfriends you on facebook. Of course, if you remember all of your Facebook friends, you can see who unfriended you by going through your friends list everyday. However, this Mashable article will tell you an easier way to see people who unfriended you. There are also ways to get informed when someone unfollows you on Twitter through websites such as Qwitter.com or lostafollower.com. I’ve had a few “you followed me so I followed you and then you unfollowed me so now I’m following you for no reason” moments. Never again will that happen!

Dealing with drama is easy! Don't participate or respond to inane posts! As a business owner, who has time for drama? I know I don't! :)
