Tech Thursday: Buffer for the iPhone
(hubze.com) The hubze squad has talked about the Buffer app before. For those who have not heard of it yet, it is a Web-based application that can help you schedule your tweets and allows you to time your tweets when your followers are wide awake and active on Twitter. This means that you are likely to get more mentions, retweets and clicks!
In fact, Buffer has released a study that shows that those who start using Buffer to schedule their tweets saw more clicks on their tweeted links, got more retweets, had increased followers and got more influential on Klout. Buffer announced that when people scheduled their tweets, they are able to get as much as 200% more clicks. If that is not impressive, how about being able to double your retweets? All that retweets have led to an increase in follower counts of more than 100 after three weeks, and an increase of 3.5 points to their Klout scores within the first week.
What’s more, with Buffer you really do not have to be online just to send out a tweet or to announce a new blog post. You also get to avoid flooding your followers!
Using the Buffer app is more convenient because you could take any Web content and tweet it out. You can work anywhere and still access Buffer on the Web! But for many of us, it was something that we could only use when working on a desktop.
This lack of mobility was one of the weakness of this app, making it second choice to other tweet scheduling services that have a mobile app such as Hootsuite.
The good news is that Buffer has come out with an iPhone app so that you could be stuck in traffic and still be able to schedule your tweets. Android users are luckier because they had the Buffer mobile app available to them since last November.
The app works just like its Web version, allowing you to add a series of tweets or Facebook status updates and schedule them as you would like them to appear.
You might also want to use the bookmarklet that gives you the convenience of instantly adding the pages you want to share from your Safari browser to your buffered tweets and updates. Having the bookmarklet can also make it more convenient for you to share the things you read while on-the-go, essentially increasing the number of tweets you send out.

The latest version now has URL shortening so you do not go over the 140 character limit, and it also allows users to post updates instantly after writing them.
But the best thing is that it still has the analytics. In fact, you could easily see how many clicks and retweets each buffered tweet had, while also get to know its reach.

The Buffer App, no matter where you use it, can certainly help you get as much mileage for your tweets and status updates. With the iPhone app, however, it helps you become more productive and makes it easier to manage your social shares.
So if you are an iPhone user, there really is no reason to miss out now! Download the Buffer for the iPhone app here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/buffer/id490474324?mt=8&ls=1
